Bristol City have recalled striker Marlon Jackson from his loan spell at League Two side Northampton Town.

Jackson, 20, scored one goal in six appearances for the Cobblers but has been recalled by City ahead of the appointment of a new manager.

Town boss Gary Johnson told the club website:, external "It has been mutually agreed for Marlon to go back to Bristol City.

"With a new manager coming in soon it is probably better for Marlon to be there before the new man is in place."

The former Robins chief added: "He is a young player with potential but there are things that he knows he has to work on."
