Grimsby Town sign Hull City's Conor Townsend on loan

Townsend has been with the Tigers since the age of eight

Grimsby Town have signed young Hull City left-back Conor Townsend on a one-month loan deal.

The 18-year-old has not yet played in a competitive fixture for the Championship play-off candidates.

Townsend, who can also play centre-half, could make his Mariners debut in the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round tie against Ashington on Saturday.

Grimsby are currently 15th in the Blue Square Bet Premier, four points clear of the drop-zone.
