The FA Cup is the world's oldest association football club competition

League One leaders and 1947 FA Cup winners Charlton Athletic will travel to Blue Square Bet North side FC Halifax Town in the first round proper.

Morecambe host three-times cup winners Sheffield Wednesday, while Sheffield United entertain Oxford United, who are managed by Blades fan Chris Wilder.

Isthmian Division One North side Redbridge, the lowest-ranked team in the draw, are at home to Oxford City.

Ties will be played on the weekend of 12 and 13 November.

Northern Premier Division side Nantwich Town, managed by former Northern Ireland international striker Jimmy Quinn, are rewarded for reaching the first round proper for the first time in the club's 127-year history with an away tie at League One promotion hopefuls MK Dons.

And Aldershot Town, who lost 3-0 to Manchester United in the last 16 of the Carling Cup on Tuesday, have been handed a tricky looking tie at Blue Square Bet South side Maidenhead United.

Redbridge against Oxford City is one of eight all non-league ties in the first round, with others including Blue Square Bet Premier leaders Wrexham at Cambridge United, AFC Totton versus Bradford Park Avenue and Salisbury City at home to Arlesey Town.
