Torquay claimed their third victory in a row as they comfortably won at Crewe.
Rene Howe's powerful strike gave the Gulls the lead before Billy Bodin and Eunan O'Kane both hit the post as Torquay dominated the first half.
Lee Mansell made it 2-0 with a low shot after the Alex failed to clear a free-kick and Bodin sealed the victory with a low finish after a fine run.
Crewe's Luke Murphy headed a good chance over the bar and Shaun Miller went close with a shot and a header.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Crewe manager Dario Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke:
"The fans aren't booing the players. They're booing me, but that's up to them.
"I won't leave this club because of them. I shall hand over when it suits or when somebody else tells me that it's time to go.
"It certainly won't be because of the supporters."
Torquay United manager Martin Ling told BBC Radio Devon:
"The first half is probably where we deserved the two goals, where we played better, but on the break we always looked a danger, we always looked like we could have chances.
"We went eight games without a win and now we've got three wins, nine points, nine goals and none against.
"It's amazing how the confidence can change quickly and we look like a good team again now."
