Daniel Nardiello aims to extend Exeter City goalscoring run

Nardiello has scored seven of Exeter's last 12 goals

Exeter City striker Daniel Nardiello says he wants to continue his current goal-scoring spree.

The 29-year-old former Manchester United youngster has scored five goals in his last three games and bagged seven of City's last 12 goals.

"I'm delighted to be able to get the goals I have and hopefully I can get a few more," he told BBC South West.

"Beforehand I was getting the chances, as were the other players, but just weren't putting them away."

Exeter have won two of their last three matches after winning just one of their previous 10 games.

"I just think chances are finally going in for us," Nardiello added.

"The goals are coming for me. It's nice that the lads are creating a lot of chances for me."

Nardiello joined City on a free transfer from Blackpool in the summer of 2010 and his impressive recent form has won the praise of manager Paul Tisdale.

"What's important is he's doing his job to the best of his ability," said Tisdale.

"He's improving and he's doing his job better and better and I can only applaud him for that."

But Tisdale was keen to stress that Exeter's success was not down to any one member of the squad.

"All the players are important," he added. "It's dangerous to single out any one player because all members of the squad have contributed.

"Danny Coles, our central defender, has been just as effective as Daniel, but it's in a different vain. It's blocking and tackling and doing a defensive job, but he's been equally as effective."
