Bristol Rovers' form frustrates winger Joe Anyinsah

Bristol Rovers winger Joe Anyinsah says the team have been left disappointed by their lack of consistency.

Paul Buckle's side have gone seven months without back-to-back wins and currently sit 16th in League Two.

"Everyone is frustrated. We've brought a few things on ourselves," he told BBC Radio Bristol after Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Accrington.

"It's hard not to get negative once you're down. We all try and stay positive but it's difficult."

Rovers were 2-0 down at half time against Stanley before Anyinsah pulled one back for his fourth goal of the campaign.

"When we re-grouped in the second half we came out with a better spirit and with a better tempo and created a lot of chances," he continued.

"On the second-half performance we should have got more out of the game but you can't start the way we did and expect miracles.

"It's down to the lads now. We work hard on simple things in training and once again a couple of mistakes have given away easy goals. They've not worked really well for them."

Despite being favourites for promotion at the start of the term, Rovers are now eight points off the play-off spots and have claimed just two wins from their last seven games.

And Anyinsah has blamed a lack of concentration for their indifferent season so far.

"I don't think it's anything to do with complacency, I think it's more concentration," he added.

"We've got to concentrate from minute one to minute 95, or whatever it may be, because we can't afford to gift people goals like that.

"All we can do is go into the next game, hopefully get three points and build on it."
