Aldershot 1-2 Gillingham
- Published
Frank Nouble and Chris Whelpdale were on the scoresheet as Gillingham won at Aldershot.
On-loan Nouble put the visitors ahead early-on when he glanced home Danny Jackman's corner.
Whelpdale doubled the Gills' advantage when his speculative 30-yard attempt went past home keeper Jamie Young.
Scott Davies pulled one back for the Shots with a well-struck effort from Luke Gutteridge's pass but they were unable to force a late equaliser.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler told BBC Radio Kent:
"I thought the first-half was the most complete performance this season, with or without the ball. Had it been 4-0 at half time it would have been the right result.
"We had to stay strong second-half and we defended terrifically.
"We had opportunities to get the third goal so all in all our first-half performance won us the game."
