Oxford have re-signed MK Dons forward Lewis Guy on loan until 2 January.
The 26-year-old played seven times for United during his one-month loan spell between August and September.
The ex-Doncaster striker featured just once for the Dons following his return and goes straight into Oxford's squad for the game with Cheltenham.
"It's a no-brainer for us as Lewis is available for no financial outlay as MK Dons want him in the shop window," said Oxford United manager Chris Wilder.
Guy told BBC Radio Oxford:, external "I think we'll definitely be in the mix come the end of the season. I believe this club will be promoted this season and I hope I am proven right.
"I want to get in the team and start scoring some goals. We need to help James Constable. We can't just rely on him and we all need to chip in.
"I do really enjoy it here, I love the fans and I love the manager, and in the time I'm here I'll give 100%."
