Donegal Celtic moved up to seventh place in the Premiership with goals from Eamon McAllister and Jonathan Gowdy giving them victory at Seaview.

McAllister pounced to shoot in the opener on 40 minutes after keeper Maros Valko had failed to hold on to Gowdy's shot and the defence failed to clear.

Rangers defender David McAlinden turned well in the box to fire in a neat equaliser in the 65th minute.

Gowdy's looping back-header gave Celtic victory three minutes from time.

It followed a fine cross from the right by Paul McVeigh and Gowdy's effort from the around the penalty spot floated over Valko to leave Carrick deflated.

Carrick, using the ground of Crusaders as their headquarters this season, are still without a home win in the league this season, having drawn four and lost five.

It was DC's sixth away win of the Premiership campaign.
