Plymouth 1-2 Torquay

Goals from Billy Bodin and Lee Mansell helped Torquay United end the five-game unbeaten run of local rivals Plymouth.

Bodin put the Gulls ahead when he bundled the ball home after Eunan O'Kane's free-kick from the right wing was headed down by Chris Robertson.

An unmarked Mansell doubled the lead when he ran on to a pass from Danny Stevens and shot low past Jake Cole.

Plymouth scored when Luke Young headed in from Simon Walton's cross but the Pilgrims could not force an equaliser.

We'll take positives from defeat - Fletcher

Plymouth Argyle manager Carl Fletcher told BBC Radio Devon:

"We could've maybe nicked a point towards the end, but it wasn't to be, so it's disappointing.

"It was such a great crowd here today, it was really pleasing to see. We're just disappointed in the changing room that we couldn't put smiles on their faces.

"It was a good competitive game, credit to Torquay."

Torquay United manager Martin Ling told BBC Radio Devon:

"We scored two great goals and then looked like we could go on to win it more comfortably.

"Once they got their goal and got back in the game, it was a bit hairy.

"There were a few bodies that needed to go on the line and some blocks that needed to be done."
