Wycombe boss Gary Waddock has labelled striker Marcello Trotta a "goal-scoring machine" after hitting the target for the sixth time in four games.

The 19-year-old Italian, on loan from Fulham, netted a hat-trick in Saturday's 3-1 win over Exeter.

"He's a goal-scoring machine," Waddock told BBC Three Counties Radio. "He was doing it for Fulham in their reserves.

"And he has come here and got himself a hat-trick in front of his family who have flown in for Christmas."

He added: "It's fantastic for him and his family."

The Chairboys overcame the Grecians to go three games unbeaten, following a run of seven without a victory.

The win lifted them out of the League One drop zone for the first time in over two months.

"It was an important game and an important result for us," said Waddock.

"It's nice but we're not going to get carried away because we're out of the relegation zone like we weren't getting carried away when we were in it.

"We just keep working towards what we want to achieve come April, May time."
