West Brom defender Joe Mattock says he is eager to extend his loan stay at Portsmouth past January.

He arrived at Fratton Park on 24 November having worked with Pompey boss Michael Appleton at the Hawthorns.

"They are good lads and they've looked after me well, so I'm looking to stay here," Mattock told BBC Radio Solent., external

Mattock has played five times for Portsmouth since his arrival, including the south-coast derby against Southampton, and says he is enjoying his football at Fratton Park.

"I'm really comfortable down here. I've got my girlfriend with me so I'm not on my own," he added.

"It's been a difficult 15 months really, but being here and around this team and enjoying it, hopefully I can get back in the England set-up."
