Scunthorpe have signed Stalybridge Celtic striker Connor Jennings for an undisclosed fee, but have had defender Shane Duffy recalled by Everton.

Jennings, 20, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Iron.

Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Duffy has made 19 appearances for Scunthorpe following his August loan move, scoring twice.

But Everton have injury problems and want the 20-year-old back for Saturday's FA Cup tie against Tamworth.

However, the Iron are hopeful that he could return to Glanford Park for the following weekend.
