Swindon Town make bid for Gillingham's Luke Rooney

Swindon Town have tabled a bid for Gillingham midfielder Luke Rooney.
BBC Wiltshire understand the Robins have offered a six-figure sum to their League Two rivals for the 21-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer.
"He's stuck out for Gillingham this season and he's somebody we are pursuing," said chairman Jeremy Wray.
Rooney was dropped from the Gills squad, external in November after contract negotiations broke down, although he has now been reinstated after reopening talks., external
"For whatever reason he's decided he's come to the end of his time at Gillingham and obviously they've got to do best by them to make sure they get the best price," added Wray.
Rooney has made 59 appearances for the Gills, scoring six goals.
Meanwhile, Swindon manager Paolo di Canio has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association for an incident which occured during their 2-1 win over Northampton, external on 31 December.
Di Canio ran on the pitch to celebrate with his players after Alan McCormack grabbed a late winner at Sixfields. He has until 9 January to respond to the charge.
