Stoke City's Rory Delap eyes another Wembley final

Stoke City midfielder Rory Delap has set his sights on a return to Wembley in the FA Cup final in May.

The Potters, who lost 1-0 to Manchester City in the 2011 final, travel to Championship side Derby County in the fourth round on Saturday.

Delap, 35, told BBC Radio Stoke: "We would love a repeat of last year.

"It's a competition we've got a chance of winning, because we're not daft enough to believe we're going to win the Premier League."

The former Republic of Ireland international continued: "We've got the three cup competitions this year and we're out of one of them (the Carling Cup) so we've got two left."

The Potters, who are currently eighth in the Premier League, are still involved in European competition and face Spanish giants Valencia in the first knockout round of the Europa League in February.

After beating League Two side Gillingham in the third round, the Pride Park club stand between the Potters and a place in the last 16 of the FA Cup.

Delap will be returning to familiar territory, having played more than 100 games in a three-year spell with the Rams.

"When the draw came out, I started getting a few texts from friends," he said. "My wife's family are all Derby fans so it could be interesting.

"I'm looking forward to it but we know it's going to be a tough game."

Manager Tony Pulis has also warned against complacency when Stoke make the short trip to the East Midlands.

"They're a good side," Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke. "It's a great stadium and they're a proper football club with great tradition.

"I'm sure it will be a great cup tie. May the best team win, but it isn't going to be a walk in the park."
