Bristol Rovers sign Stoke City's Matthew Lund on loan

Lund is a Northern Ireland Under-21 international

Bristol Rovers have signed Stoke midfielder Matthew Lund on a month-long loan deal.

Lund, 21, has yet to make an appearance for the Premier League club but has enjoyed first-team experience during loan spells at Hereford and Oldham.

"It is a good deal for everyone," Rovers manager Mark McGhee told the club website.

"They want to offer us some support, the player wants to get games and we get to have a good look at him."

Chairman Nick Higgs added: "He is a very exciting prospect and we hope that we can be a stepping stone for him in a very promising career."
