Torquay United bring in Reading defender MacDonald
- Published
Torquay have signed centre-back Angus MacDonald on a youth loan from Reading until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old, who has never played a Football League match, joins the Gulls after Chris Robertson was sold to Preston on transfer deadline day.
"He is a big centre-half and rated very highly by the people at Reading," manager Martin Ling said.
"They see him as a massive prospect for the future and are happy for him to continue his education with us."
Should Torquay reach the play-offs he will also be available for the Gulls.
"The deal is actually a youth loan because Angus is 19 and that enables us to keep him here for longer, if required," Ling added.
