Rhys Jordan returning to full fitness for Guernsey FC

Guernsey FC boss Tony Vance will not rush former New Zealand Under-17 midfielder Rhys Jordan into his side as he recovers from a back injury.

The Guernsey-born 17-year-old represented the All Blacks at the Under-17 World Cup last summer before returning to the island.

"He's not ready to join in with us just yet, we've got to tread carefully with him," Vance told BBC Guernsey.

"He's a quality player and defies his age with the ability he has."

Jordan has stepped up his recover by appearing for his club side Sylvans, scoring his first senior goal in their 4-1 win over Rangers last week.

"We have his best interests at heart," Vance said.

"When he gets a couple of 90 minutes under his belt we'll be in a position to filter him into the squad because he's certainly a player we want to bring in."
