Ebbsfleet lose to York and Dartford held by Wealdstone

Ebbsfleet United are out of the FA Trophy after Matt Blair's second-half strike earned York City a 1-0 win.

League survival will now be the priority for the Fleet, who won the competition in 2008.

Dartford's hopes of Wembley are still alive following a 2-2 draw with Ryman Premier League outfit Wealdstone.

Danny Harris and Lee Noble twice gave the Darts the lead only for Chris O'Leary's 80th minute header to reward the visitors' endeavour with a replay.

Elliot Bradbrook added to Dartford's woes by limping off with a hamstring injury after just seven minutes.

And manager Tony Burman was left frustrated with another fixture added to their ever-increasing list.

"I don't think we deserved to win the game," he told BBC Radio Kent. "I though a draw was probably a fair result.

"We knew it would be tight but the last 10 minutes of the first half were disappointing. We dangled the carrot and they took it.

"We didn't play with any intelligence. We were bombing on from midfield and lost our discipline instead of trying to take control of the game.

"They scored a great equaliser, a great header. But that's the beauty of cup football."

Burman added: "We're disappointed but we haven't lost and we're still in the competition."

Meanwhile, Ebbsfleet, who had had their game against York postponed twice already, were left to rue some wasteful finishing against City, a team 10 places above them in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

The scoreline could have been worse for the Fleet had Jason Walker not struck the post from the penalty spot late in the second half.

But manager Liam Daish was defiant after the final whistle, saying: "I thought we had the three or four best chances of the game.

"I think we deserved something. We created clear cut chances which is always hard to do at York but we failed to convert them which is the important bit.

"When you come to places like York, Fleetwood or Luton, you need big performances," he said.

"You need people to put their bodies on the line and you need the physical side of the game. We did that.

"The final bit was that quality or killer instinct in front of goal that we lacked."
