Truro City boss Lee Hodges says he is proud of the way his side played despite losing 3-1 at Dover Athletic in the Blue Square Bet South.
Scott Walker's penalty gave City a 10th minute lead before George Purcell equalised nine minutes later.
Matt Johnson's 34th minute penalty put the Kent side ahead and Billy Bricknell secured the points in the last minute.
"The way we played I couldn't be prouder of them," Hodges told BBC Radio Cornwall after the match.
"They're management's come off and said no-one's put them under that sort of pressure all season.
"We should have got something out of the game it was as simple as that, for 70 minutes we were penned in their half causing them problems.
"For all the hard work I'm so disappointed that the boys haven't got their rewards, it was the best we've played for a while.
"If you don't get confidence from performances like that I don't know what you can do," he added.
The defeat sees Truro slip to 12th in the table ahead of a trip to Eastleigh on Saturday.
