Glentoran are to hold to further interviews with Eddie Patterson and Pat McGibbon as they seek to fill their managerial vacancy by Tuesday night.

It is understood that both the remaining candidates will be quizzed on Monday, with the Oval board meeting to make a decision the following day.

Former Ballymena manager Roy Walker now appears to be out of the running, along with Ian Foster.

Patterson attended the Glens' 1-0 win over Cliftonville on Saturday.

McGibbon meanwhile oversaw his Newry City side's Intermediate Cup win over Ballynahinch United.

The former Manchester United and Wigan Athletic defender formerly played for the Glens, claiming a league winners' medal in 2005.

Patterson was sacked by Cliftonville despite making the club title contenders during his tenure at Solitude.

Scott Young resigned as manager after the club's Irish Cup defeat by Newington YC in January.
