Jersey Scottish have been crowned the Jersey Premiership champions after a 3-1 win at Rozel Rovers.

Jack Boyle (2) and Rob McBey netted for Scottish to see them lift the James Marquis Memorial Trophy for the 10th time.

Carl Scott scored for struggling Rozel Rovers, who are hovering just above the relegation zone.

The Scots have run away with the league this season, losing just one of their 14 matches so far.

"The players have all worked really hard and if you work hard you get your just desserts and we got it today," Scottish coach Pat Brennan told BBC Radio Jersey.

"We've picked up a lot of points where people have thought we were lucky but I thought it was because we were fit and we finished games strongly.

"These things come in cycles and I'm hoping this is the beginning of a cycle for Jersey Scottish."

In Saturday's other matches Adam Pepper scored twice as relegation-threatened Trinity got a 2-0 win at St Ouen, while elsewhere St Paul's were 2-1 winners at St Peter.

In the only Championship match of the day St Brelade overcame Beeches Old Boys 3-0 to move seven points clear at the top and remain on course for promotion to the island's top flight.
