Tranmere striker Enoch Showunmi says his partnership with Ryan Brunt can help Rovers stay in League One.

Brunt is on loan from Stoke and Showunmi believes their combined physical presence will prove tough to defend against for opposition teams.

"He's a great lad to play with and I think both of us can cause problems," Showunmi told BBC Radio Merseyside, external.

"I haven't played with two up front for a while, he's a young lad and has done a brilliant job since he's been here."

He added: "Ryan's big and strong - I think he's bigger than I was when I was 18. We're trying to get a little link-up together and I'm sure I owe him a goal now.

"But hopefully he'll get a goal in the next few games."

Showunmi, a former Nigeria international, has scored twice in Tranmere's victories over Leyton Orient and Preston, and wants the team to continue that form at promotion chasing Sheffield United on Saturday.

"Hopefully we can take what we've done in the last three games down there and we can go full of confidence," continued the striker.

"We've got nothing to lose and they're playing for promotion. We've got our own goals for the rest of the season and hopefully we can go out there and get something out of the game on Saturday."
