Gylfi Sigurdsson celebrates his goal for Swansea

Gylfi Sigurdsson has become the first Swansea City player to be named the Premier League Player of the Month.

The Iceland international midfielder, on loan from German club Hoffenheim, scored four goals as Swansea won three out of four games in March.

Sigurdsson made an immediate impression after arriving in January as the 22-year-old set up Danny Graham for Swansea's winner against Arsenal.

The awards panel is made up of governing bodies, the media and fans.

Sigurdsson scored twice in Swansea's victories at Sunday's defeat at Tottenham.
