Spurs need four wins for top-four, says Harry Redknapp

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp feels his side will have to win their last four Premier League games in order to secure a top-four place.

Spurs' defeat by QPR on Saturday means they have won only one of their last nine league games but Redknapp is still confident of a Champions League spot.

"I think we are going to have to win the lot," Redknapp said. "We are going to need 12 points.

"It is is going to be very tight but we are capable of doing that."

Tottenham lie fifth in the table with four games to go, three points behind Newcastle and six behind Arsenal, although they have a game in hand on the Gunners, who drew with sixth-placed Chelsea earlier in the day.

"I am very confident but it is not going to be easy," Redknapp said of his side's prospects. "I don't see Chelsea losing too many and Newcastle are going great. What they have done is a miracle - what Alan Pardew has done there has been fantastic.

"But Arsenal still have to have to go to Stoke and West Brom so it is not all over yet. We will have to wait and see."

Spurs have to play three of the bottom six in their run-in but Redknapp says his side are ready for whatever is thrown at them and points out that two of their rivals will definitely drop points.

"We will play teams fighting for their lives but so are we - we are fighting to reach the Champions League," he added. "Newcastle and Chelsea have to play each other and I don't think they'll both win that game."

Redknapp felt his side deserved better than their 1-0 defeat at Loftus Road but admits their slump in form is alarming.

"We are obviously concerned," he explained. "I was disappointed when we lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley last Sunday but I have only seen one bad performance and that was against Norwich City when we lost at home.

"We didn't play badly here. We had all the game and they only had one shot. I'm not worried about the way we are playing. We just need the breaks. We were winning some games earlier this season playing like that."

Tottenham were short of options up front against QPR and, with Emmanuel Adebayor and Louis Saha both ruled out by injury, Jermain Defoe led the attack.

"We were a tiny team today," Redknapp added. "There was no size about us. When we got on the outside the cross had to be perfect because we had no-one who was going to win a header or get on the end of things.

"We had no cover at centre-half and no cover up front. Louis failed a fitness test on a groin strain before the game and I hope Emmanuel will be fit for our next game."
