Northampton Town reject Michael Jacobs offer

Northampton Town have turned down a bid from a Championship club for 20-year-old midfielder Michael Jacobs.
Jacobs is out of contract at the end of the season, but as he is under 24 and been with the club since he was 10, the Cobblers would be due compensation if he were to leave this summer.
However club chairman David Cardoza told BBC Radio Northampton it is up to the player to decide his future.

Cardoza said: "We hope he stays but there are big clubs interested."
Jacobs wrote his name into Northampton Town history when he scored in front of the Anfield Kop to put the Cobblers 2-1 up against Liverpool in the famous Carling Cup win in September 2010.
He also scored one of the spot-kicks in the penalty shoot-out that decided the tie.
Cardoza made it clear he has not abandoned hope that Jacobs might choose to remain at Sixfields.
He continued: "There have been a number of Premier League clubs watching him - but we have offered him a good contract. To be here might even be better for him."
