Steve Housham hails Gainsborough hat-trick hero Mettam

Manager Steve Housham hailed hat-trick hero Leon Mettam after Gainsborough Trinity reached the Blue Square Bet North play-offs for the first time thanks to a 3-2 win at Altrincham.

The win ensured Trinity finished fourth and set up a two-legged play-off semi-final against FC Halifax Town.

Housham told Radio Lincolnshire: "He was fantastic. He proved he can score goals and he ran his legs off.

"The whole squad did and I am proud of them all. Now let's go and win it."

The first leg is at home on Wednesday, with the second leg on Sunday.
