Roy Hodgson changed the game by bringing on Theo Walcott at a time when England were really struggling. Andreas Isaksson made a terrible mistake for the second goal but there was no luck for the winner.

It was fantastic play from Walcott on the right-hand side and the finish from Danny Welbeck was absolutely exquisite.

England had a 20 minute period when they were as bad as you could believe but it is to their credit that they came back to win the game.

Usually, when you are that bad, you can forget about winning it. Hodgson made the substitution and it worked for him.

We said at half-time it was not a great game, that it was scrappy and just wanting to get the win, but the second half exploded into life. You feared for England at 2-1 down.

They were really disjointed, giving two bad goals away, and there did not look any way back for them, but the spirit was fantastic to get back into the match. Theo Walcott came on and changed the game, completely pushing back the defence of Sweden, getting the space and keeping the ball better.

There was an element of luck for the equalising goal but the movement and passing for the second goal was so much better, with penetration at the end. Keeping the ball at 3-2 up is a lot easier when the opposition is tired and stretched.

The players need to learn to do that earlier in the game when it is tight. They need to be more patient than they were but it was a fabulous comeback in the second half.

The theory of England under Roy Hodgson not playing exciting football has just been blown out of the water. We are going to need heart from the players because we are not good enough at keeping the football.

We can all see that and everyone was screaming for the players to keep the ball, keep calm and pass it around and it happened for Danny Welbeck's goal. The only time in the game we passed it with the some composure we scored the winning goal.

It can be difficult, the players are under pressure but they are international footballers, playing in the best league in the world. To improve, to get better and to progress in this tournament, we need to pass it a lot better.

Ashley Young has been poor and did not offer anything going forward. Theo Walcott gave them some energy and managers need players coming on to make impact, whether that is offensively or defensively, and he has done that tonight with his pace.
