Wolves' Bjorn Sigurdarson says he faces 'toughest challenge' yet

Bjorn Sigurdarson admits he faces a battle to claim a starting place in the Wolverhampton Wanderers line-up.

The 21-year-old Icelandic international striker joined Wolves from Lillestrom this summer, but does not expect to be in the first team immediately.

"There's a lot of competition, so even to play a minute here this season, it's going to be some achievement," he told the club website.

"It'll be the toughest challenge of my career to force my way into this team."

Sigurdarson faces competition from Kevin Doyle, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Steven Fletcher to get into the Wolves first team, but he says he is just concentrating on his own performances.

"All I can do is play my own game, hope everyone will be impressed and the manager will play me more," said Sigurdarson.

"I feel over the last year I've developed a lot more than in the previous year - it's been a big jump.

"I've worked really hard to get everything into the right shape; physically, mentally, right foot and left foot to make sure everything is equal."
