Newcastle United have signed Curtis Good from Australian A-League side Melbourne Heart on a six-year deal.
The 19-year-old centre-half made 25 appearances for Heart last term in his first season after graduating from the Australian Institute of Sport.
Good, an Australia Under-19 international, becomes the Magpies' third summer signing after Gael Bigirimana and Romain Amalfitano.
Neither club has revealed whether the Magpies will pay a fee for Good.
Prior to completing the deal, Heart boss John Aloisi said the move was a positive for the future of the club's academy set-up.
"It's a fantastic opportunity for Curtis. Newcastle United is one of the biggest clubs in the United Kingdom, and we are absolutely delighted he has the opportunity to test his wares on such a stage," he told the club website.
"While Curtis will certainly be missed, his proposed transfer is a great affirmation of our youth policy, and a demonstration of the club's ability to assist in developing players to such an extent that they're able to move to one of Europe's leading competitions."
United, who return from a tournament in Portugal this week, face Den Haag in a friendly in the Netherlands on Saturday.
