Dartford 2-3 Tamworth

  • Published

Promoted Dartford began life in the Blue Square Bet Premier with a home defeat against Tamworth.

Former Fleetwood winger Peter Till put the visitors ahead on his debut with a low shot from inside the box.

Adam Cunnington's right-footed effort made it 2-0, before Elliot Bradbrook's free-kick closed the gap.

Cunnington fired into the top corner for his second and, although Harry Crawford's header set up a tense finish, Tamworth hung on to win.

Dartford manager Tony Burman told BBC Radio Kent:

Burman - that was three points dropped

"Their three goals were three mistakes and we've been punished for them but I think we did all right.

"We deserved something from the game, if not all three points. But if you make mistakes you get punished.

"I don't think we played poorly, we let a ball drop from the goalkeepers hands and on another day we get something from the game.

"It's three points dropped, the team performance was good."
