Inverness CT 1-1 Kilmarnock

Inverness and Kilmarnock continue to hunt for their first Scottish Premier League wins of the season after the pair drew in the Highlands.

Andrew Shinnie turned in the hosts' opener after eight minutes.

Ryan Esson saved Danny Racchi's penalty to keep Inverness ahead, but Killie did level through Manuel Pascali's header.

Owain Tudur Jones was shown a straight red card for serious foul play, but the 10 men almost stole a winner, Nick Ross denied by Killie goalkeeper Cammy Bell.

The result means a second successive draw for both sides as two of last season's bottom six teams make a solid if unspectacular start to season 2012-13.

Killie's opening to the match was interrupted by Gary Harkins' enforced withdrawal due to a head knock, with Racchi sent on as a replacement.

Inverness won a corner after Bell saved from Ross Draper and the hosts soon took the lead as Aaron Doran's corner was knocked on by Draper to Andrew Shinnie, who was on hand to convert at the back post.

Shane Sutherland tested Bell and Pascali cleared off the line from Doran as Terry Butcher's men continued to impose themselves.

The visitors had the chance to level when Liam Kelly was tripped in the box by Draper, but the substitute's spot-kick was saved by Esson, who also prevented James Dayton's rebound effort.

And there was more disappointment for the visitors when Dayton was stretchered off after being fouled by King and the midfielder was replaced by Rory McKenzie.

However, the Ayrshire side did find an equaliser when Pascali's header from Michael Nelson's cross beat Esson in first-half injury time.

Both sides struggled to recapture their fluency after the break with Bell saving from Sutherland early in the second half.

Jones became involved in an off-the-ball altercation with James Fowler after which the Inverness man was dismissed and the Killie player picked up a booking.

Ross's header forced a fine save from Bell and the draw was confirmed when Esson blocked Kelly's long-range effort moments later.
