Walsall sign Ben Purkiss and Nicky Featherstone

League One side Walsall have signed former Hereford duo Ben Purkiss and Nicky Featherstone on free transfers.

Former York City right-back Purkiss, 28, joined the Bulls from Oxford in January before leaving the club at the end of the season.

Midfielder Featherstone, 23, also left Hereford following their relegation from the Football League before joining Purkiss on trial with the Saddlers.

He began his career at Hull and also had a spell on loan at Grimsby.
