Alfreton Town 0-3 Hereford

Hereford scored three goals in 14 second-half minutes to secure a comfortable win at 10-man Alfreton.

Despite Alfreton's bright start, Marley Watkins rifled a volley into the top left-hand corner from the edge of the box to open the scoring for Hereford.

Striker Sean Canham tapped home his second goal of the season after 64 minutes to double the advantage.

Tom Nicholls then found the bottom corner from distance for 3-0, before Paul Denton was sent off late on.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Hereford manager Martin Foyle told BBC Hereford and Worcester:

"I thought we looked quite comfortable at times today but in the first half we had to defend that long throw.

"But we had worked hard on that in training this week and the lads knew what was coming.

"It's fingers crossed sometimes that they don't get the first or the second header.

"But once we had sorted that out I don't think we had a problem in the second half and we played some good stuff."
