Striker Padraig Amond has signed a one-year deal with Accrington Stanley after a successful loan spell last season.
The 24-year-old Irishman has joined on a free transfer from Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira.
Amond told the club website:, external "I said at the end of last season that I wanted to come back. I enjoyed my time so much.
"I've obviously worked with (manager) Paul Cook a couple of times now. He's a really good manager and I like working with him and that's why I came back."
Amond's performances for Stanley last season earned him the supporters' player of the year award for 2011-12.
"Personally I don't think you saw the best of me last season," he added.
"I played a lot of the season on the wing and it was only probably the last 10 games or so when I played up front, which I think is my best position."
Accrington's first competitive game of the season saw them exit the Capital One Cup at the hands of Carlisle United on Saturday.
