Barnsley have signed veteran striker Marlon Harewood on a one-year deal.
The 32-year-old spent time on trial with Sheffield Wednesday earlier in the summer but failed to earn a deal with the Owls.
Tykes front man Mido was ruled out for the first three months of the season with a hamstring injury last week.
Harewood, who finished last season with Nottingham Forest, had a loan spell at Oakwell in 2010-11, scoring four goals in 10 games.
