Ramsdens Cup: E Stirlingshire 3-0 Airdrie Utd

East Stirlingshire cruised into the third round of the Ramsdens Cup with a thumping win over Airdrie United.

The hosts took the lead in the 23rd minute when Scott Maxwell produced a stunning finish from the edge of the penalty area.

And the Third Division outfit doubled their advantage 13 minutes later through Kevin Turner, whose first effort was well saved by goalkeeper Kenny Arthur, but the striker made no mistake second time from the rebound.

The Diamonds were stunned by the quickfire double and struggled to regain any composure as the half drew to a close.

The visitors returned after the break in much the same form before Michael Herd settled things for Shire with a neat close-range finish a minute from time.
