St Johnstone's Murray Davidson & Chris Millar sidelined by injury

St Johnstone midfielders Murray Davidson and Chris Millar face lengthy spells out after picking up injuries in the 2-1 defeat by Aberdeen.

Right-sided wide player Millar faces six weeks out with a hamstring strain.

Davidson, who captained Saints in their Europa League tie at Eskisehirspor, has a knee problem, which may require electric shock treatment.

"It's a blow, that's for sure. I think we're looking at a significant period of absence," said manager Steve Lomas.

"Murray saw a specialist last week about his knee which has been bothering him for some time now," he told the club website.

"They don't want to operate and so a mix of rest and electric shock treatment to the affected area to help improve blood supply seems to be the way ahead but that's going to take time.

"As for Midge (Millar), then rest and treatment is obviously on the cards."

However, Lomas is optimistic that other members of his squad can fill the gap in midfield.

"Jamie Adams came off the bench on Saturday and we had David Robertson and Kevin Moon not stripped, so the absence of Chris and Murray provides opportunities to these players to come in and make an impression," he said.

There was some good news for the Perth club, with strikers Craig Beattie, Gregory Tade and Rowan Vine all available for the weekend trip to Hibernian.

Tade and Vine are free from suspension, while Beattie has recovered from the illness that deprived him of a debut against the Dons.
