Grimsby Town dealt Liam Hearn injury blow

Grimsby striker Liam Hearn has been ruled out for several months after scans revealed he needs to have surgery on a ruptured Achilles.

The 26-year-old was the Mariners top scorer last season with 27 league goals, having joined them from Alfreton in July 2011.

He scored four hat-tricks in his debut season at Blundell Park.

Grimsby have endured a disappointing start to the season, failing to win any of their first three matches.
