Wolves midfielder Jamie O'Hara has suffered a setback in his return from injury as he faces more hernia surgery.

The 25-year-old has been struggling with a complex groin injury for the past eight months, and underwent double hernia surgery in December to try and resolve the issue.

Despite making a comeback towards the end of last season, he has been out of competitive action since March.

The club hope surgery will help O'Hara return for the majority of the season.

O'Hara joined Wolves on a permanent basis in 2011, but he was restricted to just 19 league appearances last season, missing the crucial final stages as Wolves were relegated to the Championship.

He played 45 minutes of their pre-season friendly with Walsall in July, but the decision has been made to undergo surgery as he has not made a full recovery from his injury.
