Charlton Athletic have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper David Button for an undisclosed fee.

Since turning pro in 2005, Button has had loan spells at 11 different clubs and spent time at Leyton Orient, Doncaster and Barnsley last season.

Addicks boss Chris Powell told the club website:, external "He's someone we've been monitoring for quite some time and is a hugely talented young keeper who is a good age and boasts all the right attributes.

"This represents a new chapter for him and it's great that he feels it's the right time to make this move and develop here at The Valley.

"David will provide strong competition in the goalkeeping department and that can only benefit us going forward."
