Walsall came from behind to secure an impressive victory over Preston.
North End took an early lead when Nicky Wroe found Joel Byrom unmarked and the midfielder nodded past debutant loan keeper Karl Darlow.
James Baxendale's chipped effort over Steve Simonsen brought the visitors level just before half-time.
George Bowerman put them ahead from the spot, after he had been tripped by Shane Cansdell-Sherriff, and his powerful drive completed the comeback.
