Woking 2-1 Gateshead

Jack Parkinson's early goal set Woking on their way to victory over Gateshead.

The hosts led inside six minutes when Parkinson's 25-yard effort deflected past keeper Adam Bartlett, and Gavin McCallum added a second from close range after good work from Kevin Betsy.

Gateshead were much improved after the interval and Phil Turnbull drove the ball in from 12 yards to make it 2-1.

But their hopes of a draw all but ended when Chris Bush was sent off for a second yellow card on 81 minutes.

Woking showed confidence - Hill

"It was probably our biggest test, Gateshead are a team fancied by a lot of people to be close this year.

"Whoever you play home or away, they're all tough games but we're showing a lot of confidence and a great deal of belief and the players are working hard.

"I think we've deserved the points over the last three games and the momentum is with us to be able to put a three-win little run together.
