Stranraer 0-2 Queen of the South

Top-of-the-table Queen of the South continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-0 win over bottom club Stranraer at Stair Park.

The struggling home side were presented with a golden opportunity to open the scoring in the sixth minute when Chris Higgins felled Sean Winter in the penalty box but Christopher Aitken smashed the resultant kick wide of the right-hand post.

And Keith Knox's men were made to pay for their profligacy minutes before the half-hour mark as Doonhamers top-scorer Gavin Reilly found space to convert William Gibson's cross and notch his seventh league strike of the season.

Nicky Clark fired into the roof of the net in the final minute to confirm all three points and a sixth successive win for Allan Johnston's side.
