Aldershot midfielder Peter Vincenti says the squad are remaining positive despite their current run of form.

The Shots have lost their last five games in League Two and lie in the relegation zone.

"We know that where we are doesn't reflect the quality we have got in the dressing room," he told BBC Surrey.

"We're frustrated with where we are but there's no point in feeling sorry for ourselves. We've got to stay positive, which we will do."

The 26-year-old added: "We've got to look at ourselves and know we are good players and better than what we are showing.

"We as players have to take responsibility as well.

"We'll keep the focus and we know we can put it right."

The Shots were beaten 4-0 at league leaders Gillingham on Saturday, which was their sixth straight defeat in all competitions.

"We can understand the fans' frustrations," he continued.

"We are better than what we are showing.

"When you haven't won there is a bit of apprehension. You don't want to make the mistake that could lead to a goal and that sort of stuff.

"When your confidence is down it is difficult to get it back up. We're on a bad run but things can turn very, very quickly.

"I'm sure we will turn the corner.

"We'll work on things and we're still confident that we can win next week against Rotherham at home."
