Lincoln Ladies chief executive Luke Negus-Hill says it is vital the club's new manager is well connected in the women's game and hopes the appointment will be made within six weeks.
Glyn Harris was sacked earlier this month after just one season of his second spell in charge.
Negus-Hill told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "It is crucial you get a manager who mixes in the right circles.
"We need someone who has managed or has been involved in the women's game."
He conrinued: "We want to get someone by the end of November at the latest. That is critical for our own players so they know where they are are at, and also for attracting players.
"We are getting there. We have received more interest than I would have expected.
"We have spoken to a few managers and we are making progress and it is something we want to do pretty quickly."
The Lady Imps finished in fifth place in the FA Womens Super League, external last season.
