AFC Telford 2-2 Ebbsfleet Utd

  • Published

AFC Telford's Steve Jones missed a penalty and his chance for a hat-trick as his side drew with Ebbsfleet United.

The striker put the Bucks ahead, heading in Steven Leslie's cross, but Nathan Elder finished after Ashley Carew's pass to level for Ebbsfleet.

Jones scored his second with a low finish but then fouled Carew in the box and Elder converted from the spot.

The Fleet's Patrick Ada then brought down Leslie in the area, but Jones failed to seal all the points.

Ebbsfleet drive me 'nuts' - Daish

Ebbsfleet United manager Liam Daish told BBC Radio Kent:

"I don't know if we deserved to win it, but we didn't deserve to lose it.

"It's been a tough week with our fourth away game on the spin - it was a hell of a trip (for the FA Cup tie at Carlisle) on Saturday.

"I've got to be able to turn up and have an idea of what I am going to get.

"We've got to take things on board better. I'm going to go into an early grave if it carries on because it's driving you nuts sometimes."
