Jersey striker Ross Crick has been ruled out of the amateur international against the Republic of Ireland.

Crick suffered a groin strain in a training match and will be replaced by Jamie Savory.

The island's top players are set to wear the Three Lions of England for the first time in Saturday's friendly after winning the FA Inter-League Cup.

"It's a blow for Ross who was in fantastic form," said boss Craig Culkin.

"Jamie Savory's agreed to come in at such late notice and we're grateful for that.

"It's a good replacement but our thoughts are with Ross because he was geared up for Saturday and there was a strong case for him starting."

The Jersey Football Combination side - the island's league system - will use the game at Home Farm FC in Dublin as part of their preparations for next year's Uefa Regions Cup in San Marino.
