Morecambe 3-1 AFC Wimbledon

Kevin Ellison netted a hat-trick to help Morecambe to a comfortable victory against AFC Wimbledon.

Ellison scored after seven minutes after a turn of pace and extended the lead after the half hour from Stewart Drummond's through-ball.

The Dons reduced the deficit when Jack Midson won and converted a penalty.

However Shrimps striker Ellison added his third with a fine strike, before Dons defender Paul McCallum was sent off for a late foul on Nick Fenton.

"I'm certainly learning the hard way what this job brings.

"We will get to work next week. We haven't had many free weeks where we can do a lot of work on the training pitch.

"We're in a dogfight and we've got to make sure that we start picking up some results."
