Martin Jones has been appointed as the new assistant manager of Truro City.

The Torpoint-based former Plymouth Argyle youth coach, who also has links with Sunderland, replaces Dave Newton, who stepped down last week as Lee Hodges's number two.

"I am delighted to have Martin on board and I am sure we will work very well together and he'll be good for the lads," Hodges said,

"He has a lot of good contacts in the game, which will be a bonus."
